+ Is our fish locally caught?
With a focus on local-grown and island-caught, our dishes are prepared fresh and ready to order. Since our inception in 2003, the goal has been to share the bounties of Hawaii to locals and visitors alike. Located at the base of Diamond Head, refreshing acai bowls, fresh fruit smoothies, and savory wild-caught ahi salads/wraps/sandwiches, are but a handful of favorites amongst our loyal following. If you’re finishing a hike or just looking for some healthier eats after a surf session, this is a go-to for many who are health conscious.
A laid-back vibe with lots of local flair, da Cove Health Bar & Café formerly known as Diamond Head Cove, embodies the vision of its founder, local waterman Marcus Marcos and his loyal buddy Pono (a yellow Labrador that starred as Vincent in LOST).
You could often find the two at the shop, Marcus playing his ukulele with Pono by his side. A paddler, surfer and fisherman, Marcus incorporated many things he loved into the shop and its menu. That’s why fresh fruits and veggies, fish, art and music have been an integral part of da Cove and who we are. One of Marcus’ favorite past times was having some ‘awa or kava with friends – new and old. Note that da Cove is one of the few locations on island that serves fresh Hawaiian ‘awa. This root drink has many medicinal values and was once reserved only for chiefs of old Hawaii.
